Helping People Build Careers
Our Story
The Training Center was founded in 1982 by John Moscatiello as a practical education solution for boiler operators seeking careers in plant operation and maintenance. Drawing on his own experience as a plant operator, John set out to build a school that offered hands-on, real-world training to help others build better futures. What began as one man’s vision has grown into a family-run school grounded in the same values it was built on — helping people build successful careers. Today, The Training Center is proud to be recognized as a top trade school and the premier source for training across the skilled trades, guiding thousands of industry professionals toward long-term career success.

To build a future where people
are inspired to go to work,
motivated to keep learning, and
committed to helping one another.
—Our Vision
To be an ambassador for
every student, aligning their
success with our own.
—Our Mission
Our Approach
It is our mission to establish a lasting relationship with every student who attends our school, at any level. We believe that love (or the lack of it) is at the root of all learning. We care deeply for our students, and that commitment drives everything we do, supporting them in every way we can. That means 10 years after taking a program, a student can pick up the phone and call us for help, advice, or anything we could possibly offer.
Our programs are designed to carefully meet the needs of the adult learner, with an understanding of how adults learn. Rather than force-feeding lines of bullet points, our students learn through visual lessons and hands-on experience mirroring real-world scenarios. Our instructors are more than just experts in their fields, they are personally invested in your success and with you every step of your journey.
Our Promise
Student success is our top priority, and we are fully committed to helping you reach your full potential. We’re with you every step of the way. Here, you’re more than just a student, you’re part of our family, and your goals become our goals. Even after graduation, we remain by your side, committed to helping you grow and succeed in your career.
The Training Center is the only school of its kind that guarantees your education. If you enroll in one of our programs, attend all classes, and complete any assigned work, we guarantee your education. If you fail the exam, you may return to the program at no cost (for two years) until you pass the state exam.

“Today, I have a solid career and I have more than replaced my previous income. The best part is I never have to worry about not having a marketable skill again. The debt of gratitude I owe Dan and Patrick can never be repaid. Whether you’re just starting out or starting over like I was, the Externship Program can lead you to a bright future.”
