3pm - 11pm Maintenance Mechanic for our home in Piscataway, NJ.

Description: 

Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment and performs technical repairs and maintenance tasks such as, refurbishing, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintenance and repair of buildings, utilities systems, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, electrical work, refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, emergency generator, maintenance of parking lots.

  • Troubleshoot, assess and repair equipment; HVAC/boilers, kitchen, laundry, Pers/Nurse call devices, Fire Alarm devices and all medical related equipment in accordance with prints/diagrams, operation manuals and manufacturers’ specifications, using hand/power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.

  • Performs daily equipment/safety rounds and documents results.

  • Knowledge of BMS (Building Management System), Metasys, Fire Alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, elevators, and DSX door operating systems.

  • Operational knowledge of snow removal equipment such as snow plows, snow blowers and salt spreaders.

  • May initiate purchase requisitions for parts and sundry items with the approval of the Manager of Maintenance.

  • Keep equipment records listing date of servicing, preventive maintenance and parts usage.

  • Able to assess scope of assigned tasks and estimate labor hours and material usage.

  • Must follow all Safety and Regulatory requirements.

  • Must be able to complete required departmental paper work.

  • Have general knowledge of computer software and maintenance work order system.

  • Coordinates with other departments to provide services and follows up to assure completion.

  • Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.

  • Assures that tools and equipment are properly maintained and all preventative maintenance is performed to assure efficient operations.

  • Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices.

  • Other duties are assigned and/or required.

Schedule: Third Shift and Weekend roles available. 23:00-07:00.  

Rate: TBD (competitive, based on qualifications)

Education/Training/Experience: 

  • High school diploma or G.E.D., required

  • Courses in Shop, Arithmetic, General Science, Plumbing, Basic Electricity I, Air Conditioning I and II or IV, Black Seal Boiler License – Low Pressure (or higher) and refrigeration courses.

  • Previous experience in the building trade; healthcare setting preferred

  • Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing

  • Ability to obtain CDL as appropriate

Eligible Parker's Superior Benefit Package : Full Time, (FT) - 40 hours per week, any shift Part Time Eligible (PTE) – 22.5 or more hours per week, any shift
